A picture is worth a thousand words...

Topless sunbathing is more the norm than the exception around the world. Unfortunately, this is not the case here, where local "community standards" outlaw such practices. However, the habit is growing and, as more and more women and teens dare to shed their tops in public places, the public becomes more accepting of "breasts exposed"—some day, the acceptance at community pools and beaches of topless sunbathing will become common.

That day may not be that far off. On the fringes of public beaches we are now bearing witness to the occasional topless woman, particularly on beaches around San Francisco, in the Northwest, the Outer Banks of North Carolina, North Idaho, parts of Dade County, and on select beaches around Cape Cod.* There is no vast "organization" involved in any of this. Just individual women deciding to shed one of the most unnatural of contraptions—the bathing suit top. 

The amateur pictures on this page reveal the naked fact that breasts are rather beautiful to look at, are often a source of pleasure for their owners, and, in most cases, are very affordable. For both men and women, the prospect of a nationwide acceptance of topless sunbathing in public carries with it only merit, and could well lead to a reduction of anxiety and prescriptions. We are absolutely serious. Imagine for a moment your local beach fully occupied with bare bosoms on a sunny August afternoon. For most, the prospect carries with it not only pleasure but hope.

*We are well aware that there are plenty of "nudist" watering holes and locations around the U.S., as well as associations and "lifestyle" groups that seemingly promote "nudity." They are beside the point; we are only interested in truly "public" areas where full or partial nudity is accepted.
